Can you please help edit this small paragraph?? Thanks!?

THE ANSWER BEFORE MINE IS CORRECT !! Use it. However, generally speaking, American and English grammar and spelling can be quite different. For example, English grammar does not accept the use of the word "gotten", whereas American grammar does. Grammar rules also change. When I was at university it was considered a sin to start a sentence with "But", but now it's very accepted, even in articles by highly educated journalists. I also studied in America for some time and when I used the word "whilst" I was told it was outdated and old fashioned and "no longer used" but it IS STILL USED in British and Australian Universities. That's just a bit of extra information. But yes, the first example is right, in terms of your question!!
