Why do hip-hop "artists" suddenly think they're moral....?

when the gay issue arises? They have lyrics about illicit money, drugs, mistreating women (whom they don't refer to as women), and shooting each other. Last time I checked all of these things were immoral, but if they hear the word gay they vehemently scream about how immoral it is to be gay. I'm not sure I understand the reasoning here.
